LHS Fire Evacuation
Today at roughly 8:08 in the morning the fire alarms went off at Liberty High School. Students were immediately evacuated from the building and were moved across the road to near the football field and track. Many speculations were made by students of what exactly happened, including whether a student purposely pulled the alarm, or if there was an actual fire.
Three to four firetrucks appeared on the scene and at least one ambulance. While all the action was happening many students chose to take advantage of the event and posted pictures and commentary on Twitter, talked with friends or did last minute homework.
According to a message sent by Principal Adams, “Smoke filled the main office resulting in immediate action of our Fire Evacuation process. The Fire Department cleared the building of no immediate fire hazards.”
Students were moved back into the building safely at approximately 8:49 and the school day continued, contrary to many students’ hopes.
