LHS Gives a Safe Environment for Trick or Treaters.
LHS was swarmed with little princesses and super heroes as they made their way around in their Halloween costumes during Safe Halloween on October 29.
“Safe Halloween is family friendly for families in the Liberty community to take their kids around to different clubs or classes in our school and collect candy.” junior Kasey Allshouse said.
The kids dressed up in their Halloween costumes and made their way around the commons collecting candy.
“Its a fun environment for the kids to be able to trick or treat.” senior Josh Gale said.
The different booths set up games for the kids to play.
“The Breakfast Club booth was Super Hero Knock Out,” Allshouse said.”We had cans painted as super heroes and the kids had to stand on a paper that said “wham” or “pow” and try to knock down the cans.”
This gave an exciting way for kids to earn their candy.
“National Honor Society had a bowling pin game,” Gale said. “The kids rolled balls to knock down the pins and we gave them candy for it.”
This was just as enjoyable for the high schoolers that hosted each activity as it was for the trick or treaters.
“All the high school students get to play with the kids,” Gale said. “The kids are hilarious. They are my favorite because they are so funny.”
LHS students were glad to be able to provide a secure environment for the kids to celebrate their Halloween.
“The atmosphere is very safe and very child-friendly,”Allshouse said. “It helps bring the community together and feel more like a family. You get to see the younger kids look up to the older kids and get to know the classes and clubs they’re going to see when they get to high school.”
