Squad Up!
Wednesday Squadruplet Day
Story by Katie Moon and Delaney Tarpley
On a normal day, students may see groups like the football players, theatre kids and band members, but on Squadruplet day the school transforms into power rangers, fruits and cowboys. The school celebrated Homecoming week with the first ever Squadruplet day on Wednesday, September 28. The purpose of Squadruplet day was meant for dressing up and trying to match with friends or “squads” for fun.
Many different peer groups took this concept to extremes and came up with unique ways to participate.
“My friends and I decided to dress up as different fruit,” senior Lindsay Marchand said. “[We] came up with the idea from Pinterest the day before Squadruplet day. It took me a little bit to paint on my lemon though.”
For students it’s not only entertaining to participate in spirit days, but also to see fellow classmates get creative with their different ideas.
“I really enjoyed Wednesday’s spirit day because it was something that my friends and I could all do together,” senior Francesca Croce said. “It was also really interesting to see people that you wouldn’t expect to have school spirit dress up and participate.”
Even if certain groups didn’t get super complex outfits, everyone still had a fun time in the end.
“My favorite part about squad day is just getting to dress up and match with my friends,” sophomore Bree Martin said. “It’s a really fun day and I hope we get to do it again.”
