Full April Issue Drops Today

The Bell staff renovated the entire April issue due to the Coronavirus shutdown.

The plans for the April issue of The Bell fluctuated between regular routine and stop, shock and Coronavirus shutdown. Today, we’re bringing a completely renovated and 100% virtual issue to our BlueJay audience.

Readers will be able to flip through the pages, just like our print edition. Click on the cover. Click on the little box in the lower right-hand corner to size it up and use the arrows to turn the pages. Use the magnifying glass to size the text up and down.

For the first time that most of the LHS students have been alive, there is a pandemic that directly affects us and everything in our lives. We thought we had stories ready to go before spring break but then we realized our stories needed to be changed to fit what is happening around us.

We updated spotlight stories for what those students are doing during this time, completely changed our spring sports story, and added nine completely new stories about everything regarding this time of change.

Those nine stories added are a part of our special report on the Coronavirus. Starting on page 22 you will find tips and advice from LHS administration and counselors that are directly followed on page 24 with The Bell staff members’ experiences with the changes they’re going through. Everyone is experiencing something completely different and the special report covers all of it.

As we continue this Coronavirus shutdown, The Bell is going to publish our print editions online and we will add even more stories every week to try and help everyone through the stay-at-home order and the pandemic in general.

Overall, The Bell staff has you covered for the school-wide and community response to COVID-19.
