Chiefs fans travel from across the nation to witness the Super Bowl LVII champions’ parade.
On Feb 15, 2023 Chiefs fans from all over the country gathered to celebrate the victory which took place during the Superbowl LVII ending with the Chiefs beating the Eagles 38-35 at the State Farm Arena in Glendale, Arizona on Feb 12, 2023.
The parade had an estimated 800,000-1 million in attendance according to KCUR.com and painted the streets of downtown Kansas City red. The parade began at 12 PM and ended at approximately 1:45 PM for a pep rally at Union Station afterward. While the weather was fairly cold at the parade, it didn’t compare to the temperatures of the last parade at 27 degrees fahrenheit compared to the mid to lower 40s this year.
If people weren’t able to attend the event, news stations such as Fox 4 and KMBC broadcasted the parade and the pep rally which took place at Union Station after the parade ended at approximately 1:30 PM.
Both quarterback and MVP Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce gave speeches at the pep rally to let fans know how much they appreciate them and their plan to win the Superbowl again next year.
“Before we started this season, the AFC West said we were rebuilding,” Mahomes said. “I’ll be honest with you, I don’t know what rebuilding means. In our rebuilding year, we’re world champs.”
