Thomas A Simone Memorial Award Assembly

Senior Jaxon Hicks was awarded the Thomas A Simone Memorial Award Dec 10th as he joins many other student athletics with this honor for his hard work on the Liberty High School Bluejays Football team. He is joined alongside Coach Frigon who was awarded coach of the year and Isaiah Hung and Trevor Bindel for the Buck Buchanan award.

On Nov. 9 all of journalism including The Bell Newspaper, KLHS and The Spectator Photojournalism boarded a train and headed for St.Louis for. “My favorite part of the St. Louis trip was getting to meet other journalism kid’s from around the country and comparing our work. It was a great learning experience and it’s a memory I wouldn’t trade for the world,” senior Bianca Jackson.

Monday, Apr. 8 at 1:28 pm students leave their seventh-hour class to gather on the football field and watch their second solar eclipse. During the first eclipse in 2017, students witnessed full totality, meaning they were able to watch as day turned shortly into night and were able to look directly at the sun without it affecting their eyes. This time the eclipse could only be seen through eclipse glasses due to the area only being able to see roughly 83% totality. “I liked watching the eclipse this year because it was a new perspective. It shows the beauty of imperfect things. The sun and moon rarely overlap each other but in doing so they create something fascinating,” junior Addyson Alderman said.
