In the midst of finishing her high school career and preparing for college, Alex Rogers strives to make the most out of her senior year.
“I’m excited for all the events, kind of like the last ‘hoorah’ before I go to college,” Rogers said. “I feel like every senior tries to go to everything because it’s their last year [and] that’s what I’m looking forward to the most.”
This friendly varsity athlete has been playing tennis competitively since she was 12 years old and enjoys playing during the summer.
“I play tennis year round but currently the season’s going, so I’m not playing club,” Rogers said. “I play number two singles and number one doubles.”
After school and tennis practice, Alex can usually be found reading her favorite books.
“I like to read, currently I’m rereading Harry Potter,” Rogers said. “I definitely like mysteries the most, there’s one book called I Hunt Killers that’s good. Also My Sister’s Keeper is one of my favorite books and I like C.S. Lewis.”
Her music taste is also unique, she dabbles with listening to both alternative music and rap music.
“I listen to a lot of music,” Rogers said. “[I like] Glass Animals, Alabama Shakes, Modern Baseball, Frank Ocean, Lecrae and Snoop Dogg.”
Alex has also recently attended a Panic! at the Disco concert and the Buzz Beach Ball festival. She is considering numerous colleges and has an interest to go into the medical field as a career.
“The brain is really interesting to me and I also really like kids, so maybe [a] psychiatrist or [I’ll go into] some sort of psychological career path,” Rogers said.
