Liberty breaks their losing streak in a 3-0 win over Oak Park High School on Tuesday night, April 8, at Liberty High School.
Liberty (2-3) held possession for the majority of the game, with a goal in the first half by D1 commit junior Jayde Springfield, and two goals to round out the three by junior Brookelyn Jadwin.
“Nash told me specifically to make runs behind defenders. I was able to score and have a couple of opportunities off of those runs,” Jadwin said.
Going into the game, the Lady Jays were focused on improving their communication and marking opponents. Head Coach Tyler Nash was pleased with the team’s result tonight, with criticism to work on going forward.
“The result was good. anytime you can get wins in the Conference, they’re going to be important,” Coach Nash said. “Speed of play is one thing that we can do better, especially going forward and being smart with runs. [We’re] thinking how we can create chances.”
Liberty prepares for its next game against St. Teresa’s Academy at St. Teresa’s field on Thursday, with the Catholic college-preparatory high school being their biggest challenge yet.
